Medical Assistant Program
Our classrooms are often located right next to working clinics and medical campuses. That means you don’t just learn a skill in a book. You can step across the hall into an active clinical setting and practice it.
You’ll get hands-on practice with things like taking blood pressure, checking vitals, and helping get patients ready for an exam. Getting comfortable in a working clinical space early makes a real difference once you’re out in the field.
Clinical Practice in the Classroom
Because our classrooms sit next to active medical campuses, class time isn’t limited to lecture. You can walk into a genuine clinical setting and practice what you just learned the same day.

Midternship at Kino College: An Early Look at the Field
Partway through the program, you’ll complete a 40-hour Midternship. You’ll shadow across multiple clinics for an early, hands-on look at the field before your externship even starts. Most students don’t get patient contact this soon. Midternship at Kino College gives you a head start.
Externship: Your Final Step
Near the end of the program, you’ll complete your externship. You’ll work full-time, Monday through Friday, in a clinical setting to build practical work experience. Some students are hired directly by their externship site. Others aren’t, and that’s perfectly normal. Either way, you leave with hands-on experience and real connections in the field.
