Kino College is a licensed, private postsecondary school, specializing in allied health career training and focused on providing highly qualified personnel for the medical profession. It was founded in 2012 by healthcare professionals actively working in the medical community who were attuned to the needs of the modern medical office.

Instructional Methodology

Kino College is dedicated to the belief that education enriches an individual personally and professionally. Kino College’s Professional Medical Assisting program balances theory, critical thinking and skill training in its various program of study. The program is taught in English using a systems approach that employs a variety of instructional methods including lecture, demonstration, laboratory and practical application. It provides for the specific interests of Kino College students as they pertain to the healthcare system, and educates and stimulates Kino College students during their training.

The class size at Kino College is approximately 20 students. This ensures that students receive personal one-on-one attention which enhances learning significantly.

Our team consists of a diverse mix carefully selected from the ranks of active and former local physicians, nurses, medical assistants, and other medical and service professionals.

Professional Medical Assistant Curriculum

The Professional Medical Assistant program consists of 720 clock hours (36 weeks) of instruction and externship.  It has been designed to effectively prepare one for the rigors of the modern medical office.  The program balances the study of the major body systems with the functional duties of the medical assistant in the new medical office.  The coursework initially introduces the basic sciences and subjects in a general manner and then using constructive repetition, brings the basics to the real-life medical environment and the bedside.

Systems Based Instruction

Based on a systems approach using selective repetition and extensive fieldwork similar to the training of physicians.

Career Placement Services

Graduates are assisted with employment placement. Kino College scans the employment environment and identifies employment opportunities as they arise.   Whereas Kino College cannot guarantee employment, the college is committed to providing quality services in support of the graduate’s employment goals.
