Train Where Real Medicine Happens
Kino College holds classes on active medical campuses, including Northwest Medical Center and Banner University Medicine North, not a classroom dressed up to look like one. You train surrounded by real medical professionals and equipment.
Learning in a working medical environment from day one means you walk into your externship already comfortable in a clinical setting.
Practice on Real People
Before you ever step into a clinical site, you will already have practiced the skill on a real classmate, in scrubs, using the same equipment you will use on the job. Some of it is a little awkward at first. All of it builds the muscle memory that carries you into your externship with confidence.
Hands-On Experience Before You Graduate
Reading about patient care is not the same as doing it. Halfway through your program, you start hands-on clinical work in a working clinic, drawing blood, giving injections, and rooming patients, months before your externship even begins. We call it Midternship.
By the time you reach your externship, you already know your way around a clinical setting. You’re prepared, not caught off guard. Clinical managers get to know you early, and many students are invited back for externship, with some hired where they trained. We do not promise a job. We do put you in the room where those connections happen.
Taught by Experts Who’ve Lived It
Many of your instructors still work in medicine today, day shifts and night shifts, in real clinics and hospitals. Others spent years in the field before they started teaching. Either way, they walk into class with a real story from their week, not a slide from ten years ago.
Medicine has an old training rule: “see one, do one, teach one.” Watch it done, do it yourself, then teach it to the next person. That’s how your instructors learned, and it’s how they teach you. They’re not just doing a job. They’re passing on what someone once passed on to them.

Kino College has trained medical assistants in Tucson for 12 years. We are accredited by the Accrediting Bureau of Health Education Schools (ABHES), and Title IV federal financial aid is available for students who qualify.
