Why Kino College

Community Impact

Kino College’s impact reaches past our own classrooms, into the clinics where our students train and the neighborhoods where our staff and students volunteer their time.

A Partnership Built to Help Everyone Win

Our training partnerships with Northwest Healthcare and Banner University Medicine North go beyond the classroom. Because our students train directly on their campuses, these partners have a hand in how future medical assistants are trained, shaping the skills their teams need most. In return, they get first pick from a group of students they already know. Many students are invited back for their externship, and some are hired right where they trained.

Opening Doors to a Professional Career

For many of our students, a career in healthcare once felt out of reach, whether because of cost, time, or not knowing where to start. Kino College exists to change that. Through our partnership with the Lapan College & Career Club, we support students on Tucson’s south side working toward their academic and career goals. Our partnership with Tucson Youth Development helps young people build a path into the workforce. Both partnerships put a professional career within reach for people who may not have believed it was possible.

Giving Back, Hands-On

Our students and staff also volunteer their time and skills directly in the community. That includes testing blood pressure and glucose levels at local grocery stores and helping Tucson schools with vision and hearing screenings, hands-on practice that also gives back.
