Kino College places student externs into a vast practitioner network. This network also forms the base from which adjunct faculty and guest lecturers are drawn. To the extent possible, student externs are placed into practices that are hiring medical assistants to facilitate employment after graduation.

The market for medical assistants is strong. According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, the number of medical assistants in the United States is expected to increase by 15% from 2023 to 2033, much faster than the average for all occupations. The growth of the aging baby-boom population will continue to increase demand for preventive medical services, which are often provided by physicians. As a result, physicians will hire more assistants to perform routine administrative and clinical duties, allowing the physicians to see more patients.
